Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship Competition: High school students who attended The Goddard School as preschoolers or kindergarteners may apply for this $10,000 scholarship. Rules and applications are available at www.goddardschool.com. Deadline for applications is Feb. 12.

Asian American Community Partnership Challenge Cup: Children and youth ages 5-to-18 may enter this music competition in piano, strings or chamber music. Total scholarships to $1,000. For more information and applications, log on to http://www.AsianAmericanCC.org Deadline is March 6; awards concert to be held May 29 at The Long Center.

Austin Girls’ Choir Auditions: Girls ages 8-to-18 are invited to audition for one of the best treble choirs in the country. Auditions occur each weekend through Feb. 7 by appointment only. Black History Month Writing Contest:
 Students in Round Rock schools may enter this contest by submitting a research paper or prose (1,000 words or fewer), a slide show presentation, poetry, play, video, or drawing (kindergarten and first grade only) on the theme “Reflections: A Mirror Into Black History.”  Cash prizes in several grade-level categories. Considering Every Option Engineering Camp Sign-up: This non-residential camp is for high school students who want to become more involved in engineering. High school girls currently in the 9th-11th grades are highly encouraged to apply. Application can be found at http://www.engr.utexas.edu/wep/precollege/ceo.cfm

CTMC High School Scholarship: The Central Texas Medical Center is offering three $1,000 scholarships, plus two laptop computers, to high school students. Log on to www.ctmc.org and click on the “About Us” section to download an application. All scholarship contest applications must be postmarked by April 19 to be considered for the competition.

Duke TIP 4th/5th Grade Talent Search: This talent search helps academically talented young people become inspired to learn through exciting educational opportunities (including above-level testing). Kids are formally recognized, praised for their performance, and sent a clear message that continuing to develop their intelligence can be fun and fulfilling. $20-74. First Bytes Summer Camp: This one-week residential camp program for sophomore and junior high school girls who is hosted by the Department of Computer Sciences at UT Austin. The point of this camp is to dispel myths about computer science and intrigue young women with the potential of computing and the excitement of problem solving. Huggable Heroes Competition: Build-A-Bear Workshop is looking for kids who have made a difference in their community through volunteering or fundraising. Kids’ Science Challenge: Kids in grades 3-6 submit experiments and questions for scientists to solve. This year’s topics involve bio-science, sports on Mars and detective science. Maternal Instincts Project: This unique performance about women, mothers, and motherhood is seeking two performers, both women ages 18-to-65.
