37th Street Lights: When we went to press, all signs indicated that this event was happening 2010 so we’re putting it in here in case you’d like to check it out. The residents of 37th Street (from Guadalupe Street to Home Lane) in Austin go all out in this amazing display of Christmas lights. You can usually drive your car down the street, but we recommend parking on Guadalupe and strolling down the street. If you miss the Trail of Lights, you definitely should check this out!

Gingerbread House Workshops: Through Dec. 22. Real gingerbread, icing, gumdrops and candy canes provide the building blocks for this fun family event. Dates and times vary; more information is available at www.austinkids.org.
