2010 Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge: One gifted middle school student will receive $50,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds for submitting short video that communicates the science behind a possible solution for a safety or security issue present in everyday life. 2010 Trash To Treasure Competition: PBS Kids Go challenges kids ages 5-19 to to recycle, reuse and re-engineer everyday materials into new inventions. Complete instructions and entry form available at PBSKIDSGO.org/designsquad/contest. Deadline is Sept. 5.
