YMCA of Austin Healthy Kids Day

Bring the family for a healthy play day at the YMCA! On Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. YMCA of Austin will host a free day of fun - encouraging kids and families to take small steps towards active and healthy living.  There will be free giveaways, healthy snacks & drinks for everyone at all Y locations during Healthy Kids Day.

Here is a sampling of what you can enjoy for free around town on Saturday:

Northwest YMCA

  • Joe McDermott will perform
  • Family Zumba
  • Minute-to-Win-It games
  • UT Womens Soccer team 
  • Austin Vipers Football team 

North Park YMCA 

  • A tour of AFD fire truck
  • Nutrition demonstrations from People's Community Clinic
  • Family yoga & Zumba
  • Hip hop for kids
  • Kinder gym 
  • Family swim time

Southwest YMCA

  • Sampler fitness & aquatics classes for the entire family 
  • Moonwalks, petting zoo, and mini-laser tag
  • Special appearance by the Chief of Police
  • Chiropractic, dental and eye services vendors

Hays YMCA

  • Performance by Dance Unlimited
  • Big bouncy house
  • Rock wall
  • Organized soccer shoots & basketball dribbles

East Communities YMCA

  • Kickboard races and water safety clinic
  • Boxing demonstrations
  • Kids' Zumba
  • T-shirt decorating workshop
  • Take a tour of a fire truck

Bastrop, at Bob Bryant Park

  • Interactive nutritional program
  • Organized group fitness activities for kids and adults,
  • Bouncy house
  • Dairy farmers mobile classroom
  • McGruff the Crime Dog. 
  • Free Healthy Kids Day shirts, coloring books and goodie bags.
