Jeanette Larson With this picture book, Scanlon, an Austin resident, offers a simple lullaby that celebrates our lives and our world. Her lyrical look at the pleasures of a shell, a bee, a big black pot, and many other things around us, provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the wonder of our diverse and ever-changing world. Illustrations by Marla Frazee provide intimate, close-up peeks at what the people in our world are doing, from morning until night. Interspersed are magnificent double-page spreads that zoom out for the bigger picture of what is happening around us. Cozy reading for children from ages two through six, this is a perfect choice for a bedtime story or for a group storytime.
