Jeanette Larson Most alphabet books string together a variety of objects with little text to explain anything about the items. This book is different. From A for America through Z for Zeal, Osornio provides snippets of information about the history of our country. After the introductory letter, A, readers trace the quest for independence from the Boston Tea Party to John Hancock and Thomas Jefferson and R for Revolution. While very young children will enjoy looking at the very detailed pictures, the text can be read and appreciated by older readers. Perfect for reading for the 4th of July or for any patriotic celebration, the information and illustrations may inspire further research and reading.
