Released for the first time in paperback, Jodee Blanco details her painful years in junior high and high school, recounting myriad episodes of bullying that led her parents to take her to a psychologist to find out why she couldn’t make friends. The book is painful at times, and downright frustrating at others —why don’t the adults see what’s going on? It soon becomes clear adults don’t “see” anything because kids are good at covering up episodes of bullying. Teens, in particular, will appreciate Blanco’s honesty, as well as the fact that she gets even, so to speak, by becoming very successful later in life. The chapter in which she describes her high school reunion is eye-opening. Ms. Blanco now speaks at schools throughout the country to stop bullying. Kids can read her blog (http://bullying.adamsmedia.com), or visit her website (www.jodeeblanco.com) for more information about scheduling a visit by her at their school.
