When these things showed up at the office, we must admit we were skeptical. How could flower essences, derived from distilling flowers in water, actually help our kids be more confident, concentrate more, or de-stress? Tester Mama Erica decided to be brave and, after first tasting a few drops herself, she tested them on her kids. “I confess, I tried them as well, and I am intrigued,” she tells us, “They did seem to work.” She especially liked the Confidence Booster, but she used up all of the Rescue Remedy (de-stressor) too. She found that the Daydream Remedy wound-up her son a bit, but he’s in preschool so he doesn’t really need it (since it’s supposed to help kids focus). We can’t say for certain whether these remedies actually work, but they seemed to. And since they don’t appear to be harmful —and are endorsed by several ADHD organizations— we putting them in the COOL column.
We’re required to tell you that all Cool or Crummy items are sent to us by companies and PR agents; we do not purchase these items independently, they just show up on our doorstep. All items are tested by our Product Review Team, otherwise known as the Tester Mamas, who have children in the age ranges recommend by the items in question. As you can see, we’re brutally honest in our reviews so it should go without saying that we do not accept payment for product placement (but we have to say it anyway because this is, after all, a required legal notice).
