We sent this game to a 5th grade math class to be tested as part of the class’ “game day”…and we discovered that it really did cause everyone to yell “hurry up!” Simple yet ingenious, Hurry Up! contains six dice, a timer, and a few instructional challenge cards. The point is to amass the largest total by rolling dice. Sounds straightforward, right? Not really. Because you have to do what the challenge cards tell you to do, which involves a bit of tricky rolling and some math — oh, and you have to do it all in 30 seconds (hence the timer). OK, it sounds a bit confusing, but once you start playing it makes perfect sense and a lot of fun. In fact, two of the girls who agreed to test this game at the beginning of the math class refused to give it up and move on to something else. All in all a good stocking stuffer for kids ages 8+.
