When this showed up on our doorstep, we knew exactly who could use it: Tester Mama Rachel, who has two kids who wake up at 5:30 each morning with either loud, musical screams of "Mommy! I want to play", angry demands of "Grr… Mommy! I want to play" or whining moans of "Mommeee, I want to play". Upon hearing them, she drags herself out of bed in a weary-bleary state and puts on one of the 75,000 different mama hats she’ll wear that day. Coffee was her trusty crutch, but not altogether reliable, what with the super-ups and super-downs. So when we foisted Herbalogic's Peak Power: Energy and Performance Formula on her, she figured she’d give it a try. And lo and behold, within two days she reported that she had energy that was consistent, soothing and sustainable. “It was both weird and awesome all at the same time,” she told us. The only bad side affect was a bit of gas. “This stuff made me want avoid seeing people for parts of the day,” she admitted. Still, a little extra gas was worth the new found energy and brain power. Peak Power it contains jujube, astragalus root, white peony root, and a few other (apparently harmless) things we can't pronounce. The directions recommend taking the tincture around mealtimes, two to three times each day, by diluting 20-40 drops in water. Although we don’t exactly know how it works, we’re going to put it in the Cool column because Rachel loved it, saying the energy boost “felt more natural than caffeine—and really, anything that can make getting up to a glee club of two children at 5:30 a.m. tolerable and almost entertaining is worth it.”
We’re required to tell you that all Cool or Crummy items are sent to us by companies and PR agents; we do not purchase these items independently, they just show up on our doorstep. All items are tested by our Product Review Team, otherwise known as the Tester Mamas, who have children in the age ranges recommend by the items in question. As you can see, we’re brutally honest in our reviews so it should go without saying that we do not accept payment for product placement (but we have to say it anyway because this is, after all, a required legal notice).
