So-So

Not good, not bad.

Beamz Music Creator

Beamz.jpg
Price:
$200-300 (depending on model; not Macintosh-compatible)

This is one of those things that’s so cool, you just can’t wait to get your hands on it. At least, that’s how the tester dads and kids felt when it dropped on our doorstep. The beamz Music Creator uses lasers as musical “keys”: by breaking the connection between the lasers, you can create a symphony in your living room.

Tooth Tissues

Price:
$7 (+$4 shipping)

Designed by a mom-and-dad dentist team, these damp tissues are similar to baby wipes.

Toe Blossoms

Toe Blossoms
Price:
$25

We’ll be the first to admit that spending $25 for infant foot decorations is ridiculous. Still, these things are darn cute.

Nourish Baby & Toddler Water

NourishWater.jpg
Price:
$40 for 12

We have to admit, we laughed out loud when these things arrived on our doorstep. Honestly, bottles pre-filled with spring water for babies and toddlers? For $3 each?

Pop Pals Ice Pop Holders

PopPals.jpg
Price:
$5 (set of 2)

The idea behind Pop Pals is to eliminate the paper-towel wrap sometimes necessary for frozen tube pops. And it does that. It also helps push-up the pop, so Mom doesn't have to do it for the child. And while it also is supposed to help eliminate the sticky mess associated with frozen treats, our 7-year-old tester kid managed to find a way around that, slathering melted pop all over himself (as usual).

Elements Naturals

ElementsNaturals.jpg
Price:
$71.40

These 100% natural and renewable baby wipes are an excellent idea for environmentally conscious parents with sensitive babies.  Free of harsh synthetic chemicals and preservatives, the wipe solution contains only plant-based ingredients derived from organic and natural resources.  The only trouble is….they kind of only work on “light spills”. In other words, if your baby does a serious deed in his diaper, these natural jobbies aren’t going to get you very far. We discovered this the hard way. While we truly adore natural products, we want them to work in a pinch (or, in our case, a smelly public restroom). Sadly, these crumbled under pressure. So while they’re not crummy, for the price we just can’t recommend them for anything beyond a quick tinkle stop.

Busy Tot Box

Price:
$12-18

This is one of those things that’s heavily marketed to parents as a way to “nurture young minds, hearts, and bodies” (per the company’s web site). And what parent can resist that? Well….you.

Poi Wear High Chair Bib

Price:
$20

This is one B-I-G bib!

Real World Wonders Stuffed Toys

Price:
$10

Putting these in the “Crummy” column seems a bit harsh, since there’s nothing seriously wrong with these stuffed toys; they just didn’t cut it with our discerning Tester Mamas.
